The kids and I were really excited to try our SodaStream Fountain Jet home soda maker! I received The Fountain Jet in black/silver which I was happy to see matched the stainless steel appliances in my kitchen. They also come in white and red/silver and would look nice on any counter. It came with 2 reusable bottles, a wide variety of sodamixes and 3 MyWater flavor essences.
I perused the instruction manual while Noah and Chloe fought over whose turn it was to squeeze into the shipping box.
It was super easy to get started. I let them each each choose a flavor. With over 30 sodamix flavors everyone will find one they love. Noah chose orange-mango and Chloe picked out lemonade. Even though my husband and I are soda-lovers, the kids don’t drink it. So this was a real treat and I was happy to see that the regular flavors contain no high-fructose corn syrup, and diet flavors are sweetened with Splenda® brand sweetener, not aspartame. The unsweetened, all-natural MyWater flavor essences are a good option too.
I filled a bottle with cold tap water and let the kids push the carbonating button and pour their mixes in…it was fun!
SodaStream is an “active green product”. Using your own home carbonation system means less packaging waste from cans and bottles and less pollution caused by transport of bottled beverages.
The best part? The soda was yummy bubbly goodness!
