5 years.

Yes. I am awake at 4 am. I have been awake for over an hour. I can’t believe Noah is 5 years old today. 5 is officially a big boy…no more baby or toddler or preschooler. At 5 years old he plays flag football, masters video games and operates a computer like a pro, adores his family, has a better vocabulary than most adults, is learning to read and constantly asks me to spell everything he sees, loves his little sister and drives her crazy, has best friends, can barely contain himself when he gets excited, has a seriously huge collection of transformers and a very messy room, and is still my super sweet and wonderful boy.

I held a 2 week old baby yesterday and I looked at his little face and couldn’t help but think of Noah all tiny and new. And of us thrown together and making our way through first-time-mamahood. He owned me from the start. It’s been so amazing. He is amazing. Part of me will always mourn the loss of babyness…I will blink and another 5 years will escape me as the last five has. And 5 more after that.
Even the thought breaks my heart into a million pieces. I am still excited when I think of all he will accomplish and I am so very proud of the crazy little person he has morphed into.

And at least he has promised me that even when he grows up he will bend down to give me hugs ♥

Dear Noah, you are so awesome you must be a robot.

You have a wonderful way with words describing your little birthday boy…. he is such a little sweetie and I am honored that he and Chloe call me THEIR Nanny (Annie). Love to you all ….
